Magnifico

Sinipon ako sayo Magnifico. The burial scene (spoiler fuck) is unwatchable though. Totally unnecessary. Also, Gloria Romero suffered from a bad casting in a way that she’s too mestiza looking for the role. The scene with her pleading for a sweet food looks creepy. Jiro Manio really deserves all the accolades. But my favorite character will always be Gerry played by Albert Martinez. What a talented actor you are sir. Amy Austria should do similar roles--often. Very effective than being the always bullied and crying probinsyana mother. Cherry Pie and Gina Alajar are two of my favorite Filipina actresses (the latter’s not in the movie). Its been a totally rough day for me, being owned by that ultra super geared Magdalo and spending millions crafting crappy amulets to no avail. But this gem of a movie made my valentines day, truly a hearty experience. I cried but ‘twas a Magnificent feeling.
